Ishtar.Tasks configuration settings (admin)

Settings Screen

The configuration section is only accessible to users with administrator rights. Only administrators can navigate to this page via the settings button in the navigation menu.

The configuration section consists of two tabs:

  • Statuses
  • Batches

Managing All Statuses

In the Statuses tab, you will find an overview of all statuses that can be linked to a task. Ishtar.Tasks includes a set of predefined statuses, which can be modified and expanded according to your organisation's needs.

If you want to modify an existing status or add new ones, click the "Edit" button in the action bar. This allows you to edit all statuses in the overview and adjust their order.

To add a new status, click the "Add Status" button. Enter a name for the new status and select a colour. If the status represents a completed task, check the "Final Status" box.

Once in edit mode, you can modify all statuses as needed.

You can also determine the order of the statuses, which affects their sequence in the "Status" dropdown and on the Kanban board.

If you want to delete one or more statuses, click the delete button next to the respective status. A confirmation prompt will appear. If you are certain, you must confirm the action again.

A status can only be deleted if no tasks are currently assigned to it.

Managing All Task Batches

The Batches tab provides an overview of configured task batches, allowing recurring tasks to be created automatically.

What is a Batch?

A batch is a group of one or more template tasks that are automatically created at a predefined time, provided the batch is still active. A batch remains active as long as:

  • It has not been manually deactivated
  • The start date is in the past
  • The end date has not passed

If a task group should temporarily stop being created, you can deactivate it using a checkbox.

Each automatically created task (based on the batch frequency) will be a copy of the template task. The start date of the task will be the day it is created. The deadline will be automatically calculated based on the template task's settings (start date + predefined duration).

🔔 At this time, only task batches can be configured. Tasks are not yet automatically generated at the desired time—this functionality is not yet available.

Adding a New Batch

To add a new batch, click the "Add Batch" button. Enter a name for the batch and select all tasks that should be included. Then, define the period during which the selected tasks should be created automatically. The start date is automatically set to the current date. The end date determines the final day of the batch’s validity. If the batch should remain active indefinitely, you do not need to set an end date.By default, a new batch is immediately active. If you do not want this, uncheck the activation box.

Then, set the frequency, choosing from the following options:

  • One-time: All tasks in this batch will be created only once, on the batch's start date.
  • Daily: All tasks in this batch will be created every specified number of days.
  • Weekly: All tasks in this batch will be created every specified number of weeks. You must select at least one weekday on which tasks should be created.
  • Monthly: All tasks in this batch will be created in one or more selected months. Then, choose one of the following options:
    • Days: Select at least one weekday on which the tasks should be created.
    • On the: If the tasks should only be created on a specific date each month, choose this option. Then, select the day of the month and specify whether it should be a calendar day or a working day (e.g., the first working day of the month).

Editing and Deleting Batches

To view or modify the settings of a batch, click the settings button next to the respective batch. This will open a pop-up form displaying all batch details. You can modify any setting, add or remove template tasks, and save your changes by clicking "Save".

Changes only apply to future tasks.

If a batch should no longer be executed, you can deactivate it in the settings or delete it entirely using the delete button next to the batch. A confirmation prompt will appear, requiring you to confirm the action again.
